In Ontario, UA Local 853 is the only Training Delivery Agent (TDA) for sprinkler fitters designed by the MOLTSD (Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development). This TDA tracks sprinkler fitter apprentices registered with the government and offers them the opportunity to attend their trade school.

All registered Sprinkler & Fire Protection Installer apprentices not registered with the Ontario Sprinkler Industry JTAC (i.e. non-union) can request their apprenticeship training school dates by submitting their request to register@ualocal853.org.

Please include the following information in your email request:

  • Name, block level you are requesting and preferred months to attend
  • OCOT number (must be active)
  • Mailing address, phone number and email address
  • Employer Name and contact, mailing address and phone number

OCOT

Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act was legislation that was introduced in 2009 giving the college authority to regulate all approved trades in Ontario.
